    Major Life Changes/Transitions

“You do not just wake up and become the butterfly — growth is a process.”  Rupi Kaur

All change involves loss, just as all loss requires change.

Even when change results from the best circumstances, it requires us to lose something else. We experience grief from all sorts of loss; some are easier to integrate than others. Are you going through a major life transition? Divorce, job loss, retirement, relocation, financial changes — any of these can cause emotional strain and take a serious toll on your mental health.

You might be dealing with serious illness, issues of aging, the death of a loved one, marriage, parenting, or questioning your faith or your sexual orientation or gender identity. Coping with life changes and transitions might bring up feelings of confusion, stress, uncertainty, sadness, or fear. However, they also offer an opportunity for personal growth.

    Grow through change.

Change gives us the opportunity to see what we’re made of, to become stronger, more confident, and better prepared for what life throws at us next. With each new challenge, we develop new personal skills and obtain a greater awareness of ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Life Transitions Counseling can help you toward that greater sense of growth and confidence — even amid the present challenges. The right tools and mindset will empower you to improve your overall functioning, face adversity, and realize a more authentic and self-possessed version of yourself that will serve you both now and in the future.
